In recent years, we have taken our webshop offline on Black Friday on principle – as a reaction to the bargain hunt and a call for more conscious consumption. This year, however, we are taking a different approach. For the first time, our webshop will remain open, but for a special reason: every euro of turnover from every purchase on November 29 will be converted into hygiene products from WONDR & Klaaar and donated to aid organizations for people who really need it.

A day of meaning

But it doesn’t stop at just donating. On Care Friday, the entire WONDR team goes out to volunteer at various aid organizations that are committed to combating poverty. By working with organizations such as Kras Gent, we have seen that food surpluses are often available, but hygiene products remain scarce. That is why we not only want to donate, but also really help physically. For us, Care Friday is not just about giving, but about being there for each other and making a concrete contribution to our society.

From Black Friday to Care Friday

With Care Friday we hope to start a new tradition and inspire others to join in. Black Friday is often seen as the pinnacle of overconsumption. We turn that around into a day of solidarity . Because what if Black Friday were to become Care Friday everywhere? Only then would it really become a day to look forward to.

The WONDR of Gifting: Together against hygiene poverty

Care Friday is part of our broader campaign, The WONDR of Gifting , in which we work together with our community and Nona Van braeckel to tackle hygiene poverty. In recent years, we have been able to donate more than €65,000 in hygiene products. This year, with the support of our customers, we hope to donate more than €80,000 in hygiene products . Because self-care should not be a luxury, but something that is accessible to everyone.
